Excellent service and excellent food. I took my wife for her 30th birthday and they provided her with a beautiful creme brulee with happy birthday written in chocolate around the serving plate. Cute atmosphere and wonder staff make this an excellent location that I would recommend to anyone. The pork belly was insane!

On date night with my husband. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was so terrible! The shrimp was so tough that I couldn't cute it with a steak knife. The sauce had way too much sherry which made it super bitter. My husband steak was good. It was tendered and tasty. The place is clean and romantic. There is also outside sitting.

The Wild Rose is one of my favorite place to go for a fancy dinner. It's quite elegant and delightful and they have a great selection of wine. I highly recommend their pork belly appetizer; it was amazing, that was my first time seeing pork belly in a fancy restaurant. Their apple green sorbet to cleanse your pallet is so tasty you will want more, lol. They have a wide variety of food selection, I highly recommend their tri tip steak and salmon dishes and they have the best mash potatoes, hands down! This place is in a great area, you can shop, watch a movie and experience this amazing restaurant.

This place is great! I have to water down the lemonade a bit as it tastes like 20 lemons squeezed into a cup, but I order it every time anyway. My only complaint is that they serve the same veggies and sides for all of their dishes, which doesn't work with some of the plates. I would also love to see a little more variety as they always have the same things on the menu aside from their special for the week or month.

I don't dine out to fancy places often, so The Wild Rose was quite the experience for me. I liked the whole entire display while I was walking to my table. We went out here for a family members birthday. There was also a great half off Groupon deal we were able to use. I started off with a delicious cup of Riesling, it went great with my food. Of course, we started off with the bread that comes right away. This was AMAZING. The butter reminded me a little of a balsamic vinaigrette flavor. Nothing like I've ever had before and I really enjoyed it. I tried a piece of the Pork Belly appetizer which was very tasty. I had the House Salad which came with Pecans, apples, cheese, and a vinaigrette dressing. This was okay, I'm not sure I would order it again. After our salads, we were presented with a green apple sorbet to cleanse the pallet. I've never had anything like this before but it was delicious and really prepared me for my entrée. For the main course, I went with the daily special which was a roasted chicken in Marsala sauce, topped with oyster mushrooms, side of veggies, and mashed potatoes. It was very presentable and had lots of flavor. Chicken is often a difficult choice for me since I worry about it being too dry but this had the perfect amount of moisture. Though I would have to say the mashed potatoes were my favorite part. Best mashed potatoes I've ever had, hands down. I would definitely come back to try the other dishes. Great service and atmosphere though a little pricey.

Amazing food for our evening out. I had a sea bass special and my wife had chicken. The service was great, flavors phenomenal. We'll be back.

Date night with the hubs. Absolutely in love with this place now! We had the scallops for a starter and I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate. Being that this is not that kind of place, I refrained. We ordered the chicken breast and sea bass for entrées and did not regret it. They were expertly prepared and ridiculously tasty. Great service, wonderful bar selection and great atmosphere. This place is now on my list of favorites.

The Wild Rose does it right on al fronts. I really didn't know what to expect here given that I bought a Groupon months back. It was a great move on my part. I finally ate here last Saturday and it truly was fantastic. Very calm on the inside and not too large. Once inside you'd never know you're in a strip mall. On to the food! Ordered the pork belly appetizer. I don't know what they made it with but it was amazing. Usually I don't review bread, but the butter tasted like the garden herb variety with what I assumed to be brown sugar because it tasted mildly sweet. It was fantastic to have with the pork belly. While I waited for my New York steak to come out, I was given a sour apple sorbet palate cleanser and would not have minded to have much more it for dessert. Light and sweet. My NY steak was cooked to perfection. Served with their house brandy sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables this was one of the better steaks I've had. The steak itself was dusted with black pepper giving each taste a good kick. 13 ounces of goodness all eaten in one sitting. The prices here are on the higher side, but I believe that you get what you pay for. I had great, attentive service, excellent food, and a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy all it. It's definitely worth another visit.

First time here, great service and the salad was great. I ordered the rib eyes great flavor and taste of the rib eye. My girlfriend had the salmon which was great. Love the place great food the price here starts $20 to 40.

This is a little restaurant tucked in a strip mall by the movie theatre. The decorations and atmosphere are nice and clean looking. We were seated and given water and bread. The bread is a small baguette with some sort of tomato balsamic spread. The spread was different but not too bad. Our waitress took our orders and our food came out quickly. The salmon tasted pretty good but it was so small! The salmon was about 4 inches long, and about 2 inches wide. I think you just expect a little more when it costs 30 bucks. I ordered the NY steak medium well and it came out rare to medium rare at the most. Unfortunately for me the waitress never came back to ask us how our food was and so I just ate around the edges where it was more well done. The steak did have good flavor, I just wish I could have eaten more of it. Overall, I was not impressed and won't be returning.

I really would give this place 3 1/2 stars if possible, it had some really great food and then some just mediocre. For starters the spread for the bread is amazing I wanted to just eat that alone, and the wedge salad was great, huge portion could easily be shared.I ordered the pepper steak and it came with diced potatoes and a steamed vegtable, my steak was hard to choke down, it was very overcooked and way to much pepper,I didn't care for the brandy sauce either, potatoes we're just meh no seasoning at all. My husband had the filet and his was melt in your mouth amazing,I think I just got the wrong thing. The ambiance is nice and relaxing if your not in a huge rush to eat this Is a great place for a romantic evening.

Love this place! An anniversary favorite for my husband and I! The tenderloin of beef is probably one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life! The service is always great and the setting has the perfect romantic ambiance for a night out without the kids!

This place is absolutely delicious! I went this morning for their brunch which started today and it is so good and they have many great choices! I had the crab cake eggs Benedict and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful! The first time here I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly, so tender and juicy, I would definitely recommend this to anyone! I also got the scallops as an appetizer and they were amazing! The restaurant is very nice, the service is great and the drink menu is a good selection as well! Definitely give this place a shot if you're looking for a nice restaurant for a special occasion or just want a perfectly done meal!

Let me start off by saying the customer service here is amazing! The hostess and server made us feel welcomed instantly. We started off with the pork belly and it was so delicious! The meat was so tender and it had a lot of flavor. My friend ordered the ribeye and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Hawaiian mahi mahi and it was pretty good. The yams that comes with it was yummy.

We love the wild rose. They often have coupons or Groupons. The food is seriously amazing, the butter.... omg, melt on your mouth, amazing! The Beef Tenderloin, and the Beef Wellington will change your life! I would much rather eat here one a month, than anywhere else weekly. Food is WAY worth it! ;-)

Just incredible. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and decided to give it a try and were very happy with it. The atmosphere was nice and romantic and the food was delicious. I ordered the house salad and the special, Kobe beef. The salad was fresh and invigorating while the beef was tender and melted in my mouth like chocolate. My wife ordered the Caesar salad, which surprised her when it came out in a wedge, but she still enjoyed it. She had the NY strip and really liked it, the only thing that was disappointing was the roasted potatoes. They were overdone and had no flavor. Overall though it was great. I'd definitely give them a try. My only last quip was the use of Papyrus font EVERYWHERE. I'm a professional graphic designer and a nice place like this deserves a better, more upscale font to represent it. Spend a few $ and buy yourself a font that matches the quality of your establishment.

Had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. A girl who had done my hair several times had recommended it. My husband took me for my birthday yesterday. We had a 5:30 reservation and we were seated immediately. Good menu. I had a coconut-almond crusted halibut cooked in pineapple with a chopped salad which was loaded with almonds, grapes and bacon in a blue cheese dressing. Both were excellent. My husband had a ribeye topped with mushrooms and bacon cooked perfectly. He had a garden salad that he also enjoyed. They brought us a small scoop of orange sorbet to cleanse the palate after our salad. For desert it was my glass of Saphire. I'm giving them 5 stars because this is the best meal I've had since moving to Utah 4 yrs ago.

Excellent place to eat, have been a couple of times and they have amazing service, the food is equally as impressive. The food comes across as the upscale style of plating you see served in five star restaurants on the East Coast, but with portions large enough to satisfy.

Nice place with a very good menu and wine list. Food is top notch and service excellent. Ambience is a little sterile- probably due to its location. Salads were great and the Buffalo short rib was fantastic. It would be nice if they did Latte's / espresso ...

A rose blooms in the desert... known as West Jordan. Circumstance - NOT choice - brought me to this part of town, in dire need of a good restaurant for a special occasion (treating my dad to a concert, and not enough time to hit up downtown SLC). I consulted OpenTable and Yelp, and found this true gem. I wasn't sure what to think initially; it took us forever to find the place in the strip mall. And when we walked in (shortly after opening), the entire restaurant was empty. We sat down and ordered anyway and the service was phenomenal. The servers showed a tremendous amount of patience and warmth when my dad kept pestering them with silly questions. The warm bread/butter and *perfect* homemade lemonade first caught my attention. Our salads and steaks - reasonably portioned - were surprisingly some of the best I've had; the mashed potatoes and veggies had uniquely independent - and equally delicious - flavor. The menu definitely caters toward broad appeal (think bacon-covered NY steak), but it's well executed. I wouldn't put the food on par with celebrity chef offerings, but for West Valley - or anywhere in Utah - it's actually very good. (Meanwhile, the restaurant filled up quickly with patrons, which was a huge relief - I want success for a place that puts such earnest effort in what they do.) They even took note of my "special occasion" mention in my reservation and brought out an amazing chocolate dessert; Dad and I practically swallowed it whole. Truly - this is the best restaurant you'll find in West Jordan.

I went here with a co-worker during a business trip. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was helpful in picking selections. I don't like blue cheese. But she convinced me to try their chopped salad. It was delicious. She also recommended the ribeye steak. That was also very good. We had cocktails that were unique. All in all we had a great doing experience.

Have been a fan of Epic for years and then learned about the Wild Rose. My husband and I have visited the Rose three tmes in the last few months. It's just an outstanding fine dining experience. You know it's a great restauraunt when you find yourself craving the salads and vegetables. I wish you could just order a plate of their fresh medley of vegetables: squash puree, beet, green beans, asparagus, carrots just cooked to PERFECTION. Also don't forget to try their fresh mint lemonade. Goes with anything that you order. Update: Found out that you can INDEED just order the vegetables if you wish.

I absolutely love this restaurant!!! If I could eat any where in this world... this is my choice. I am a foodie so that says a lot. I have eaten all over the U.S. and I have experienced fine dining in other countries as well. The food is flavorful and the presentation is beautiful. Everytime I order the house salad and Tenderloin of Beef Ruby Port Demi-Glace with a Hint of Dark Chocolate , Sliver of Artisan Blue, Creamy Mashed Potatoes I have never been more satisfied with a meal in a restaurant My husband orders something different everytime... usually the evening special and we always love his meal too!!

While the location seems a little out of place, this fine dining fit for foodies. My wife and I have eaten here for a number of occasions, and always love it. The Jalepeno grits are wonderful!

This place has all the makings of a 5 star restaurant except the location. Its smack dab in the middle of a strip mall so it just feels strange walking in. I have been here twice now and both times were terrific. The most recent time we came in, the restaurant was pretty slow, but the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and checked on us regularly. We started off with a couple glasses of Pinot, which were just fine, and lead us to the decision of a steak. We both ended up having the Ribeye steak and they were delicious! Both our steaks were cooked to perfection and the bacon demi-glace with sauteed mushrooms really set the flavor off. The veggies and starch that came with the steaks were also really good. Asparagus, butternut squash, roasted beet and carrots and the starch was a couple nicely roasted potatoes. They were well flavored and really complimented the steak and demi-glace. We also split a salad, the Chopped, and it was ok. Probably the low point, if there was one, of the meal. I thought that the bleu cheese dressing felt a little watery, but the bleu cheese crumbles were enough to overcome the rest of the dressing. We'll definitely come back and try the Pork Belly app. I heard its amazing!

When The Wild Rose first opened, we were thrilled to have a romantic restaurant with great food nearby. In fact, we made an extra effort to support it so that it would stay in business. Lately we haven't gone as much. This last visit there were several disappointments. First, the time it took to cook our food was way too long. They have tons of waiters/servers - perhaps they need to rebalance and get more cooks. Second, the menu is the exact same as it has been for years. While I like the idea of knowing that your favorite dish is going to be there, I get the sense that they are on autopilot. Even their special that night seemed to be a rehash. Third, the noodles that they made for our kids had problems (2 had cheese on them despite asking for no cheese due to allergies) and the other noodle plate had dry noodles (wondering if they had been nuked in the mircrowave and dried out.) Uggh! Finally, they need to turn up the thermostat. After coming in from the cold 20 degree weather sitting in a slightly chilly restaurant is annoying. On the plus side, the might steak was delicious and my wife's shrimp pasta was out of this world. I just think they need to look at their problems and do some minor adjustments to get back to full form.

Time to close this place. It started out a good place to go but has turned into a mediocre fancy style atmosphere. Selling the mood not the food

Underwhelming. The ambiance was alright but felt a little sparse. Speaking of sparse, the menu could've done with a few more options. I had the lamb, which was enjoyable but unremarkable, and my friend had the mushroom pasta which she said was bland and didn't finish. My cocktail was okay. The only thing I really liked was the spread that came with the bread basket. The servers were attentive and friendly, but could've been dressed better (I saw several greasy black tees) and the same goes for the other customers (Yelp has the attire listed as "dressy" yet almost everyone was in cargo shorts, flip flops, jeans, athletic t-shirts, etc - not the restaurant's fault, but if you're looking for a nicer night out, this probably isn't the place.)

Recently moved from Peirpont to West Jordan, my husband and I stumbled upon the Wild Rose. We made a last minute reservation and went in for a bite. The space was well decorated and made for a nice look around while we waited. Our server was slammed but the bus boy made sure we had plenty of bread (which was so delicious! Seriously, the bread won them major points in my book) and water. We waited a bit longer than usual for the waitress but when she came she was charming and a delight! The steak I ordered was amazing! I loved the sorbet they serve between plates ! All in all the wait was a bit much (a little less than 2 hrs), and the prices, I fear are a bit steep for South Jordan. The Wild Rose brings downtown dinning to the suburbs without the drive or the parking nightmare that comes with the city. I wish this little oasis of a restaurant all the best and to keep making AMAZING bread !

Amazing little place tucked in a strip mall. You forget what's going on outside. The food, wine, live music, staff and ambiance was perfect. Compares to a Tuscany type experience with a lower price point. We will return. Best creme brûlée ever!

I am from out of town and I went here on Thursday 3/19 with a group from work, it was the worst meal I have ever had. I ordered the New York Steak medium rare, the steak arrived well done/ very well done. I got the staffs attention and pointed out that the steak was over cooked, they took the steak back to have another prepared correctly, or so I thought, the waitress brought me the 2nd steak and it too was over cooked. The steak tasted as though it was burned and was totally without flavor. they did not charge me for the $30 rug, but it was a wasted time an d effort, the BBQ beef jerky I ended up having for dinner was far superior to the steak prepared at The Wild Rose. Avoid at all costs!

This place is spendy, but it's worth it. Had the ribeye and was perfect. Small and cozy with great service. Probably the only "nice" restaurant in southwest valley besides Market Street Grill.

We have dined here on multiple occasions. I have to say that the food has never been a disappointment. Really high marks for consistency, quality, excellent taste. The presentation is beautiful and generally the place is a bit more quiet and not so many children. It's a bit noisier when the weekend comes but still quite comfortable. The wait staff is rarely anything less that superior as well. Well trained and competent.

Amazing food. Nothing bad on the menu. Jalapeño Cheddar Grits are ridiculous! We moved to South Jordan last year and have discovered that there is no need to leave town to for a romantic dinner. Also great place to take friends. Nice wine list.

I've seen this restaurant a few times on my way to The District to catch a flick, but from the outside you don't really know what to expect so I haven't cared to do my research on this place until good ol' Groupon offered a deal. After last night, all I have to say is yum! - Bread: The spread that it came with was great! It was some sort of tomato butter pesto that had the texture of pate. -Green Apple Sorbet: Soooo good. Definitely something I'll be dying to have in the summertime. -Australian Rack of Lamb: I've only had lamb a handful of times, so I decided to give it a go and it did not disappoint. -Ribeye Special: Cooked perfectly, with wonderfully seasoned shrimp on top. Mmm. -Creme Brulee: Good, but I've had better.

This is my wifes favorite restaurant, so this is our go-to place for special occasions. She keeps coming back for one menu item - filet with artisan bleu. I have to admit it is probably the best steak I've had (I prefer it over Ruth's Chris or any of the other high end steak place offerings). I usually try and get something different like seafood pasta or something along those lines and I haven't ever been disappointed. I also have to rave about their free bread, although not the bread. Their butter is AMAZING. It is a mixture of butter, balsamic vinegar, chopped bell peppers, and minced garlic. I could eat this for a whole meal and be happy.

I love this restaurant. They have amazing specials. Their menu is fun and so different than so many other fine dinning locations. The service is great. Don't miss this little gem.

So I've recently discovered the Rack of Lamb. These lamb chops are wonderful, seared perfectly on the outside and so tender and flavorful on the inside. I've developed a craving for them. We also had the cheese plate another time, and it was a fun exploration of tastes. This will continue to be our favorite restaurant in the south valley area. The only thing I would have them change, is that when they box up leftovers, they tend to not put everything in, like the vegetables. Next time, I'll ask to do it myself.

Once in a while you'd have cravings for some fine dining experience. This one is a good restaurant to get out of the fast food and for special occasions. The service was stellar! We got to our table and was treated and well taken cared off. We ordered the whole nine yards. For starters, we had their steamed clams and kurabuta pork belly. We ordered salads as well. We had their house and ranch salads. For the main entree, my wife had the rack of lamb while I had their special of the day pork tenderloin. Their foods are excellent already, however, you top that with a great service and you'll surely be delighted and it'll be a night to remember for you and your special someone. The staffs did a great job with their service during our visit. These are from the receptionist, service staffs and the cooks. Great job Wild Rose!

I've driven by The Wild Rose so many times thinking, "Really? Fine dining in The District? With the movie theatre and Zumiez right there?? Nah. Not gonna make it. I give them six months." Fast forward to this week - about two years later. A big celebration was in order for Hubby's birthday. Of course, this called for a audit of our to-try restaurant list to nail down just the right place. A place that would be suitable for the various palates and constitutions of our friends and family group. The Wild Rose was the stand-out choice, and turned out to be a solidly great selection for more reasons than one. Upon entering, the first thing you notice is that the interior is surprisingly beautiful. They've really maximized this somewhat small strip mall spot. Its minimalist decor is simultaneously warm and welcoming, while giving off a cool and modern feel. Despite the small front lobby area's strong resemblance to a dentist's office waiting room (sans the Highlights magazines), the rest of the place is simply lovely. Our large group of 15 were treated like royals in our private party room just off the main entrance. I admit to shaking in my shoes a little when I discovered that we had been assigned a single server for the evening. One server for a group of 15. Oh, what a disaster this could be! Complete chaos...dogs and cats, living together... In reality, turns out it was the opposite of a disaster. Our server was assertive, informative, diligent, responsive, interactive, all while being inexplicably quick. A few mis-steps, but nothing egregious, or even too conspicuous. She singlehandedly managed our large party like a champ, and more than deserved the 17% gratuity math which was graciously done for us. Now - there's so much to say about the culinary experience. First, quite an impressive wine list. They offer a handful of nice by-the-glass options, and many select bottles and vintage levels for standard prices. (The by-the-glass pours seem to be a little on the light side, FYI.) Food-wise, every step, every course, every bite was a wide-eyed taste adventure...beginning with the complimentary bread. Others have acclaimed its amazing goodness, with good reason. The bread is nothing too special, but their honey-balsamic compound butter had us acclaiming its excellence, and asking for the recipe. Who goes on and on about the bread course, after all? You will once you try it. Their three salad options, ordered as a separate course if so desired, were each delicious. All tastefully presented and dressed, utilizing fresh greens and accompaniments. The only hiccup for me was that the salad course wasn't included rather than handled separately. Worthy salads, but considering the entree prices, it would be a nice gesture if they were served gratis. They bring a sorbet palate cleanser after the salad, featuring a different flavor each night. We got lucky in the rotation with the green apple, which was bright, subtle, and pleasant; just enough to do the job. The entrees our group selected included: - Pork Tenderloin Medallions with Pineapple Relish - the evening's special - Beef Tenderloin* with port/dark chocolate demi-glace and bleu cheese - Hawaiian Mahi Mahi* with lemon butter sauce & crab salad - Roasted Chicken breast with red wine reduction - Rack of Lamb* with white wine/Dijon reduction with blueberry/mint chutney - Roasted Pork Chops with roasted garlic/BBQ demi-glace - Mushroom Ravioli* with fresh herbs, goat cheese, asiago, red pepper, & sauteed mushrooms - Shrimp Scampi with angel hair pasta, garlic, lemon, white wine, & fresh herbs Every single one of the gorgeous plates delivered to us were very nearly licked clean. Literally everyone had someone delicious to say about their food. Despite the all-around divinity, there were indeed a few stand-outs, by which I placed an asterisk above. These dishes were exceptional - particularly the Beef Tenderloin (my personal selection), which brought to pass a choir of angels in my mouth. (In fact, I think they're still there sleeping it off.) Dessert choices are limited, and scrumptious for the most part. The Creme Brulee with Tahitian vanilla bean was by far the most popular with our group, followed closely by the Irish Cream Dark Chocolate Mousse. Both were so good, and well worth their $8 price tags. The Mocha Meringue cake was disappointing, and far less than worth it. It tasted formerly-frozen (a.k.a. freezer burnt), aside from which it was primarily just layers of sugar with a hint of mocha. Skip it. Overall, The Wild Rose turns out to be a well done special occasion fine dining restaurant...by the movie theatre. I say give it a go. What other possible reason would you have to slap on a tie and stilettos to hit up The District?

Smoked bacon demi-glace over a steak? Hell yes I will go for that. Went here for my birthday dinner (yes we still celebrate that and if you try to stop it I WILL cut you) I ordered the ribeye steak and my wife got the beef medallions. After tasting both dishes she got the better one. We started with the steamed clams and the cheesecake (don't judge me...life's short eat desert first). The plum ice cream was delicious, the creme brulee had the perfect flavor...the consistency was a bit off though. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. If you are looking for a good solid meal this is the place to go.....if you are looking for that meal that will change your life, open up the clouds and angels sing... this is not it. They could be but it will be awhile.

First of all, let's just get this out of the way. This is not a true fine dining restaurant. The environment is simple but quite bright for a fine dining place. (No point of lighting up the candle in the middle of the table when we sat down) The dishes were only okay. The favorite part of my whole dish would have to be the vegetables, the mashed carrots. The proteins were not cooked as requested and was drenched in their sauce instead of letting the quality of the meat speaks simple with sprinkle of salt and pepper/blackened. The ribeye was tender but too drenched in the sauce that all I tasted was the sauce. The lamb was given straight rare when ordered medium rare. It was super tough and chewy. After disappointment from the entrees, we did not want to waste more time on trying the desserts. The service was good minus when we needed the check; she disappeared for quite some time then. Overall, the experience was okay. Nothing special. I would eat here if a gathering pulls me in, but if I want true fine dining, I'll do better elsewhere.

Food is good but not as exquisite as the price would indicate. Portions were good sized and they serve pallet cleansing sorbet between courses. It is close for those who live South West of salt lake which is nice.

I must admit, I was quite hesitant to try this place. I purposely put it off for ages and only went because my wife planned a date night and this is where she wanted to go (as she knows how much I enjoy trying new places). The reason I wasn't keen on the idea is because the same folks that run this place also run Tiburon and Epic Casual Dining. To be fair, I've only been to each of those places once, but on both occasions, the food did not make me want to return. Too much sauce on everything, too much food on the plate, over-the-top presentation, etc. Now contrast that to what I experienced here: perfectly prepared, simple, fresh food. And the portion size (while enough) didn't make me feel like I was eating at Cheesecake Factory. All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised. We started with the Diver Scallops and Steamed Clams and both items were very good. I'd dare say the scallops were downright great. For my entree I tried the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned with a very tasty crab salad on top. My wife had the Mushroom Ravioli and it was very tasty too. And we wrapped things up with a creamy Creme Brule. I've got to say, my experience here almost makes me want to give Tiburon another shot.

Exquisite. Wonderful. Tasty. Friendly. Superb. I could go on and on about how much my husband and I fell in love with this restaurant. We are from California, here visiting family and we wanted to go out on a date and eat at a place that we didn't have back home. We found a Groupon kind of deal so we took it and ventured out. From the second we walked in, we were greeted with friendly faces and awesome food. We spoiled ourselves and had the cheese platter appetizer, a salad (house salad that was SUPERB) and then the main course. There was just enough time for us to eat each course and before our main dish came, we were served with a green Apple sorbet to cleanse the pallet. Everything from the peppered ny steak that I had to the pork chop that my husband had was just absolutely amazing. We shared everything we ordered because each of us wanted to taste as much as we could. The waiter shared with us that the chef is a self taught chef and has another popular restaurant in town as well. We just can't get over how wonderful of an experience it was. I tried foods that I am used to not liking and liked them. You wouldn't think that would get such an exquisite 5 course meal from this restaurant if you just drove past it or walked past it. It's located in a "strip mall" area near a 20 screen movie theater and a Target. If you want to treat yourself to a nice meal with your loved one, I highly recommend The Wild Rose. Expensive? Yes, but worth every penny. AND the portions of the main course are not small in any way! When we come back to visit again, we will definitely return.

I can't say enough good things about this place. My husband and I went to dinner around 7:30 on a Saturday without a reservation and got right in, which was great. All of the staff were very accommodating and so nice. I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the ribeye. Both came with potatoes and vegetables. The steaks were some of the most tender I've ever had and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Reasonably priced, pretty quiet atmosphere. I love it! We felt fine wearing nice jeans. Wonderful place. I will go back soon to have whatever the special is for the day.

Great ambiance! Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. My wife had the Salmon which was moist. Presentation was excellent. I had the Pork Chops which were perfect! Followed up with orange sorbet. We would recommend to all our family and friends. I booked via Open Table.

My husband and I have been several times and the food is always amazing. Our favorites are the rib-eye and the beef tenderloin. Get the jalapeño grits as your side they will substitute, they are bomb. We have also eaten at Ken Rose's other restaurants tiberon and epic but wild rose is still my favorite. It's expensive but totally worth the money for a nice meal.

PRESENTATION: This place is very romantic, calm and settle. TASTE: The taste was good, but wasn't like the best thing in the whole world. Its exactly like Tiburon, their food is the same style and the salads are the same as theirs. They have the same executive chef I think I'm not so sure. SERVICE: Whew this place and Tiburon has the same service and we had a lady that didn't ask anything sept take our order and left us hanging for 30 minutes. VALUE: Its a little pricey for the food that is okay.

Allow to begin by saying: ignore everyone whining about price. If money is an issue for you, why are you even looking at going to a place like this? It is a little more expensive than your typical restaurant, but completely worth it. You're paying for high quality food and good service. And it is far from being the most expensive place in Utah. I felt it was reasonably priced, all things considered. I was in the area with a friend when we decided to stop by for dinner. I wish I had read the reviews just so that I knew it was not a "just a nice dinner" kind of place, but rather a "romantic date" kind of place. It made for an awkward moment when the hostess tried to seat us in a more "intimate" setting than friends would usually share. I got the Mahi Mahi, which I would HIGHLY recommend. It was excellent, although the crab salad on it was little more than a bland chicken salad, with crab instead of chicken. The fish had an excellent crust on it which is not the norm when ordering fish in Utah, so I was very pleasantly surprised. The flavor was fantastic, and I greatly enjoyed the dish. I also got the creme brulee, which was superb, but not amazing. The custard was teetering on the edge of flavorless, which thankfully is the least of possible sins with creme brulee. It's presentation was somewhat haphazard, however. My friend got the special for the night which was a barbecue porkchop, which, simply put, amazing. It almost made me regret getting the mahi mahi. I had two issues. The first, which has been mentioned before, is the location. It is simply not where you would expect a fine dining restaurant to be. I feel they should seriously consider moving, or perhaps adopt a style of restaurant more conducive to their surroundings (namely a bike shop). The second issue I have is actually what I docked a star for. Both of our dishes were presented exactly the same, which I felt was just lazy. My friend got the special, and if that doesn't demand a unique, or at least different, presentation, then I don't know what does. Any other fine dining establishment I have been to had unique plating for each dish, and it appeared this place did not. In the end, I would definitely go back. Alas, I am a Utah County person, and my travels don't usually take me to West Jordan. I'm not sure that I will make a concerted effort to return, but it will be high up on my personal list for the area.

Fine dining that you don't have to drive downtown to get. The mint lemonade is refreshing and you can't go wrong with any meal on the menu. A must try if you are in the District.

Took my daughter for her 13th birthday. Service was outstanding. Vodka and lemonade cocktail was new to the menu and delicious. Started with the pork belly and jalapeño cheese grits. BBQ sauce was a little overwhelming on the pork belly and on my pork chop entree. But chop was excellent and my daughter's duo of sirloin was fantastic. Cheesecake dessert with a candle topped off the evening definitely recommend to anyone in south Jordan area looking for a fine dining experience.

great food at a decent price. the restaurant won't blow you away, but the food might. portion size looks small when they bring it out, but it is perfect and you don't feel gross when you are done. we'll def go back for more.

Hosted a business dinner here and it was my first time eating here. There were some great surprises. They are trying hard to bring fine dining to the south valley. I don't eat in places like this much in Utah so I don't know how it compares locally. Overall the food was very good. The service was attentive and prompt but casual, maybe too casual I think it's a Utah thing. We had several appetizers clams, mussels, pork belly, and cheese plate. All were cook and presented well. Not many places in Utah know how to cook shellfish. There whine list was impressive. The whine list was by far the largest I have seen in the south valley. They even had some premium scotches another nice touch. Our courses a were presented well. They provided a sorbet pallet cleanse. The steaks seamed to be under cooked around the table. The my medium-rare was rare, all the mediums were medium-well. Everyone was happy with the meal. No one was blown away. I highly recommend for a south end more refined dinning experience.

I can't say anything bad about this place. We walked in on a Tuesday and we were seated immediately. Drink orders taken by the hostess, we were soon greeted by our darling server, Kristin. Started with the scallop appetizer. They were cooked perfectly with a nice sear. The sauces that accompanied the scallops were a wonderful addition. We then got our palate cleansing sorbet, green apple. It was not too sweet and tasted as if you had just bitten into a Granny Smith Apple. We enjoyed the flavored butter as well, we're big compound butter fans. My man had the 16 oz. Rib Eye. He raved about the demi-glace, and the sides. The mushrooms were crisp and delicious, the veggies tender. I enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi. I would have preferred a little less sauce (it was soupy enough to be messy) but the shrimp were flavorful, the pasta al dente and there was just enough garlic for me to be happy. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other choices. I look forward to tasting more and seeing this place do well. There aren't a lot of finer choices out this way, and it's a breath of fresh air.

We have been here 3 times and each time is an experience. The first time we loved it! I recommend the Maui and the tenderloins. They have great butter with their bread, cheese plate is something we enjoyed last time but the sorbet between courses is different each time... Have only liked one out of three. Yes it's expensive but it's fine dinning... Want cheaper?.. Go down the street to Red Robbin or Applebee's.

The food is as good as anything I've had in SLC and better than most. Portion size is reasonable and presentation is first-rate. This is fine dining in food and ambience. Service was excellent. I agree with the other review that it's off-putting to have the salads as a separate menu item. If main courses are $25-30, paying for your salad is inexcusable. We had an appetizer (scallops) which were superb, and the dessert torte that was good, albeit a bit heavy. The location is just strange. A shopping center is not where you expect to find a restaurant of high quality, and that might explain why some patrons are dressed appropriately and others in old jeans and work shirts. Then again, I've seen that at Abravenal Hall, too. So overall, a very nice evening with excellent food and service, marked down a star for value and location.

This place should be better than it is. Good food, mediocre service, bad location for trying to be upscale. We waited at the front counter for 4-5 minutes with no greeter in sight. Bad first impression. The food was was good, the waitress- uninterested.

Meh, nothing special. We came in at about 7:45 on a Saturday night and the lobby was empty. We waited about two minutes until somebody came and greeted us. The one appetizer we wanted (scallops) they didn't have, which was weird in seeing that they only have 4 app's on the menu. We waited about 15 minutes to order our food which seems like a while. The bread/butter that we received was quite weird. Hard, flaky butter that was quite difficult to spread on the bread. Ribeye was average at best. Potatos served with it were dry and bland. Wouldn't come here again. Visited Francks last week in Holladay and it was much much better.

We love this place. We were surprised by the quality of the food, given it IS in a suburban strip mall. Do not let that fool you - the menu and the service are sophisticated. My favorite is the ribeye, and my wife likes the tuna (which is a special). My only complaint is that specials seem to go on for too long and end up not being "special". The tuna special my wife likes has been a special for 6 weeks or more, and she's ordered it 4 times. I would like to see more variation. You can't go wrong here.

We have visited all of this chef's restaurants and this was our least favorite. The food was still good but the value was not as good. I also don't like the modern open decor as much as the more classic cozy decor of Tiburon and Epic. Tiburon includes an amazing salad with their entrees as well which was lacking here. So here's how it went down: The bread and herb butter was great. Our salad we paid extra for was good, but nothing special. The sorbet was still a nice touch and the food was identical to Tiburon with great presentation. My pork was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside just like it was supposed to be. My wife's filet was top notch as well. I guess the real problem was that I feel like I'm splurging to go to Tiburon but the included salad makes me feel better. However here I just felt like it was too expensive.

OK, You have no idea how pleased I was to find an fine dining casual restaurant that was both south of 90th and on the west side of the valley. There's basically nothing else in that area. The Wild Rose is tucked into the strip mall at the District, just a quick walk from the movie theatre. They aren't perfect, but they are head and shoulders above anything else in this area, nothing else even comes close, and it's so nice not to have to drive for ages to get a decent meal. The place was very empty for a Saturday night, but there were plenty of waitresses working. Still, there was no hostess to greet us when we entered so that was strange and our waitress was hit and miss in the attentiveness. Apparently the owners family all work there as there was a 12 year old hostess helping out and a 14 year old girl bussing tables. I actually found it charming, although it does break the illusion of fine dining. SO, THE FOOD: Did you know that if you order ginger ale, it is apparently ok to be given Pepsi blended with Sprite? My wife informed me that this happens sometimes, and guess what, it happens here too. We had the confused waitress change it for something else. We started with a house salad for my wife and the salami/cheese platter for myself. The salad had all the right notes, bitter, sweet, fragrant, containing mixed greens, apples, candied pecans, and a balsamic dressing. The cheese platter came with 4 kinds of cheese, some deliciously unpeppered salami, onion jam, almonds, and grapes. It made for an unusual appetizer, to eat on it's own but all the components were tasty and we used the free bread to balance out the meat and cheese. I second the other reviewers on the Green Apple sorbet palette cleanser we were given. It tasted like a fresh, sweet, crisp, green apple - clearly the real thing and not chemically. For entrees, my wife had the double cut pork chop with a garlic barbecue gravy. It was excellent, although my wife said a bit too much black pepper. I opted for the rack of lamb (my favourite meat) and this was prepared to my specifications (medium) and absolutely delicious, with a blueberry mint chutney that they should sell. We skipped dessert, but the choices sounded great and we will have to try it. Don't be afraid to try this place - the food is flavorful, prices are only slightly higher than they should be, the service is passable, and considering the location, it really provides a great evening meal.

Great food, great service. Actual facility feels a little warehouse ish. My wife liked the sorbet between dishes, and the bread and spreads were really good. I don't usually order a pork chop, but it was really good.

If you've had gourment, this isnt gourment but its not too bad. I guess the closest to Utah Gourmet that you can get. i had the NY Strip and I wanted to add some seasoning. My friend had the mahi-mahi and it was really good. They usually have a 2 for 1 coupon so I think with that, I was ok with the prices. It is pricy for the food. Nice atmosphere.

I just had the best steak I've ever had! The tenderloin was perfectly cooked, presented with creamy mashed potatoes, crisp green beans, flavorful butternut squash, carrot and beets. All were superb. And when you order this meal, get ready to wish you could have a bucketful of the sauce that the tenderloin sits on. I would have licked it off the plate if I could have. Great wine, lovely decor and fantastic service. Dress up just a little- the food is that good.

11/24/13 Showed up at 8:45, 15 minutes before closing. The host said it would be allright, they stop seating at 9. Sat me and my wife down with menus. Shortly after we sat down the host returned and told us the kitchen staff had allready thrown out most the food, and they could only serve us dessert and wine. We left rather embarrased. We've been to Tiburon and had a great time, but Wild Rose needs to get it together.

Great ambiance, tasty food. I loved the herbed butter with the bread and the apple sorbet between courses was a nice touch. I ordered the house salad and the mahi mahi. The house salad was a bit over dressed for my taste and I felt like it was a bit over priced for the food. If it werent for the price for the quality of food I'd probably come back, but I can think of other restaurants nearby that I'd rather dish that kind of money out for.

after looking at the menu and reviews was really excited to go here last night. the place was a bit hard to find since the district is pretty big, but it's next to a bicycle store. i made reservations for 7:15 and we arrived a bit early, but were seated immediately. when we walked in it smelled so incredible - i couldn't wait to order my food. the service was excellent - our server was christa who was great throughout the night. i had their home made mint lemonade which was okay - i would have preferred to taste more lemon, but i really really like lemon (more than the average person). my bf got the kobe special which tasted bland to me. my bf thought it was good, but not as rich and marbleized as kobe beef he's had in the past. i couldn't decide between the clams, cheese & company, house salad, and mahi mahi. i wanted to get all of them, but my bf talked some sense into me. so i prioritized and got the clams, cheese & company (i love cheese so much!), and salad. the clams which were so-so and i prefer the ones at market street. the salad was also average - i liked the dressing, but felt like they drowned the salad in it so it was soggy. the cheese & company came with onion jam, grapes, salami and an assortment of cheese. the salami was gross and the onion jam was not as flavorful as i had expected. overall i enjoyed the variety of cheeses. before our appetizer we got the green apple sorbet which tasted so fresh as many other reviewers had mentioned. i was going to try some dessert, but after the disappointing food decided to pass. would i come back to this place? most likely not. the food was okay, but i enjoyed trying someplace new. and i can't complain about the service.

I'm becoming a fan of the Jordans. Not Michael Jordan. Not Air Jordans, but South Jordan and West Jordan. Why? Because great restaurants are starting to migrate westward, and it's one pioneer trek that's loooong overdue. Thank you, Wild Rose, for homesteading in our little southwestern corner of the valley. You brought with you a proverbial gold rush of flavors, an ambiance rarely seen in these here parts, and a level of creativity that we hope will blaze a trail for future settlers in the area. Here's what we had: Let's start with the bread. Really? The bread? Yup - it was good enough to comment on. The bread was warm. That's an excellent start. This is such a simple concept, but it's so often completely missed. Cold bread = less love. But the bread was not bread alone. It came with a fantastic roasted red pepper, garlic, and (just a touch of) balsamic compound butter. I could not stop eating that stupid delicious butter. Our server asked if we wanted more, and I said I didn't because then I would eat it. It has magic powers, that butter. Pace yourself because it's only the beginning. Apps: Diver Scallops- Chipotle, Garlic, Shallot,Tomato, Cream: I have to say I'm not a big fan of chipotle peppers...normally. When misused (as they often are) they infuse a flavor akin to cheap barbecue sauce. I AM a HUGE fan of diver scallops - they are the beef tenderloin of the sea. So I asked the chef to come out (young guy, worked his way up from dishes - they are always the best chefs -the ones that start at rock bottom). He did. I shared my chipotle concerns. Not only did he assure me that this dish didn't taste like that, he whipped me up a quick little sample of sauce to try. Who does that? He does. I didn't lick the plate. I promise. Kurabuta Pork Belly- 5 hour braised, Jalepeno Grits, Roasted Garlic/BBQ Demi-Glace: For me the pork belly (and yes, I know what pork belly is) was a little on the fatty side; a little bit on the rubbery side in terms of mouth feel. That being said, the flavor of the overall dish was uh-maz-ing. Oh, and I really honestly hate grits. Never eat them. These were totally edible grits. Great caramelized flavors in the BBQ demi. Soul-smackin' satisfyin'. Salad: To be honest, we didn't get a salad but we did get to try the Caesar Salad dressing. We didn't get a Caesar Salad because their dressing tastes pretty much like they stole how I make my dressing. That's about the highest compliment I know how to pay because I make mine just exactly how I like it and so do they. Sorbet: A palate cleanser. The flavor of the night was tangerine. So lovely. Nobody serves sorbet anymore. It's just that extra touch that took the meal from impressive to exceptional. Entree: Tenderloin of Beef- Ruby Port Demi-Glace with a Hint of Dark Chocolate , Sliver of Roaring Forties Blue, Creamy Mashed Potatoes - This was the only misstep of the meal, but it was only a "stepped on my toes for, like, a second or two" misstep. In other words - neither my husband nor I tasted the hint o' chocolate in the demi. The mashed potatoes were just mashed potatoes. The butternut squash puree was a disaster - stringy and bland. That stuff needs to meet a ricer and marry it. No bueno. And the veg (though very pretty) didn't have nearly as much flavor appeal as they did visual appeal. If the kitchen just took a minute (or five) to roast or grill their veggie side, it would impart so much more flavor, and a bigger more perfect bang for my buck. The steak was cooked perfectly though and certainly was delicious. Dessert: Irish Cream Dark Chocolate Mousse- Belgian Callebaut, Hint of Carolans Mousse is a chef's dessert (as opposed to a pastry chef's dessert). It's not hard to make. It's usually pleasing to the palate. It's rich, smooth, and creamy (all good words when describing a sweet treat). It was not too sweet, not too bitter. The cocoa-y undertones from the...uh...cocoa powder (Belgian Callebaut) were followed by the slightly sharp bite of the Carolans (Irish Cream). It made for a nice balance and a great mouth feel. A dreamy finish to an overall great meal. If they fix the sides on the entrees and they heighten the chocolate in the demi, they will earn my fifth star. And I don't give those five stars out lightly. That's not much of a fix to wish a star upon. Lastly, ambiance. The restaurant has a lovely, romantic, modern, clean feel. The only downside is the potential for headlights in your eyes from the parking lot outside. Our wonderful server assured us that the owner is working on fixing that. Wild Rose - be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. Welcome to ours. We hope you'll stay for dinner and forever.

Wow, way over priced and over rated. The chef is trying too hard. Food overpowered by various sauces and toppings. I had the Ribeye and it was swimming in sauce with overcooked bacon and mushrooms. My wife had the Salmon which was matched with a strong sauce and two other toppings. For these prices I suggest going to SLC. Thankfully, I had a 1/2 off coupon for the second entree.

Meh... I consider myself a "Foodie" but there's a fine line between fine dining and trying too hard. Over priced mahi with a giant pickled beet and no salt/pepper on the table for bland potatoes because I'm just the diner how dare I mess with flavor.

WOW! Fine Dining on the lower west side! I immediately interested when I heard this place was created by Ken Rose and his wife, the creators of Tiburon, one of my favorite places in the valley. Seeing that it was at the District I figured it was similar to Epic (their other side project) and was more of a toned down restaurant from Tiburon; good food, but not as high end as the flagship restaurant. I was wrong, this place it top quality food; it's a lot like Tiburon but maybe just a bit more rustic in the style of its dishes. My first tip here. Don't underdress; it's not a big deal but personally I hate when I go into a nice restaurant in jeans and a t-shirt and feel out of place. This is the kind of place where you'll want to dress up a bit and make dinner an event in itself. I'm not saying you need a dinner jacket but try for something that buttons up. ;) Second, expect to pay big for dinner. Like Tiburon this is high end and you're paying for it; just because it's located in a Movie Theater Pedestrian Mall does not mean you're going to an Applebee' s. Figure $50 per person if you include starters, desert, and a glass of wine. Now down to the important part, the food. It's amazing! We began with the Cheese & Company starter (they didn't have crab cakes!?), an assortment of cheeses and salami slices. When it came out I thought, "We just paid $11 for a few slices of cheese!" but this is some high-quality cheese. If you're fan of gourmet cheese this is a good tour through some top quality stuff. I got the Beef Tenderloin, which comes with a Ruby Port Demi-Glace and sliver of Roaring Forties Blue Cheese (which if you have it you know that just the tiniest hint of cheese goes a long way for flavor). The Tenderloin was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the Blue cheese made a perfect combination with the Demi-Glace. The sides steamed vegetables and Creamy Mashed Potatoes; both good but they're not there to steal the show, just companions to the main dish. I also tried the Pepper Crust New York in Brandied Cream reduction. I've actually made this same thing at home and while I think I'm a great cook this was spectacular and would put anybody to shame. You'd think it would be overly peppery but it was mild enough to contribute to the fantastic flavor of the sauce. The Ribeye in Bacon Demi-Glace was the ideal dish for the steakhouse lover in your party; with Sautéed Shiitake and roasted potatoes it's a much more hearty western style steak. And finally the Mahi Mahi was great for something a bit more mild if you're not interested in the beef heavy menu. There are also Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp menu options too; but there isn't much for the Vegetarian eater, two salads and the option for a Mushroom Ravioli; however if it's as good as the other dishes you know that Ravioli would be amazing. The staff was very helpful and answered any questions we had for the meal, not to mention keeping up with servicing the table so we were never wanting for something to drink or missing utensils. I also noticed that they gave us different knives depending on whether we had the fish or the beef. It's a small detail and probably often overlooked but you know you're in a good place where your cutlery is customized to your meal. I'd definitely recommend going out of your way to have dinner here. Being next to the movie theater it might be tempting to make it Dinner+ Movie type of date but good food like this shouldn't be rushed, and it'd be kind of sad where you go on a date and the food outshines the movie.

Finally! Not only is this place a "fine dinning" restaurant with delicious food, great wine, terrific service, better than all that. . . its NOT on the east side of the (southern end) of the valley! Thats right, its on the west side! Look who is growing up in a big way. Ken Rose, the owner of the fabulous Tiburon Fine Dining, Sandy (absolutely love it) and Epic Casual Dining (not as big a fan) opened up this place and god bless the man (unless "he" is a "she", then god bless her also)! What a treat and only 5 minutes from home. The food was very delicious, the Tenderloin of Beef was so freaking good. My wife really enjoyed the Shrimp Scampii and my sister-in-law thought the Mahi Mahi was great. With a good wine, beer and liquor selection, this place is near perfect. The only detractor (for some, not me) is the location in the strip mall, but honestly, I think its kinda cool to have those huge windows and seeing the crowds wandering around the area. I know the pricing is higher, but the quality and service are so outstanding that I encourage everyone to give it a try. It can be one of those "special occasion" joints for you, while for the rest of us it can serve as a frequent place to have a great meal. Please give it a chance.

This is fine dining. We've enjoyed every meal we've had. Service is well managed. Wine list by the glass isn't huge but is well chosen. What a nice escape from chains and bulk food prep. Fresh local ingredients: quality matters.

We got right in on a Saturday evening with only about 8 or 9 tables but still waited at least 5 minutes for water. There was no atmosphere to the place, very little decor, and being seated facing the windows its hard to forget you're in a strip mall. We started our meal with water. While higher prices are expected for the entrée, $3 for a fountain soda seemed a little much and beer prices were twice the price we would pay in an equal establishment downtown so we saved that expense for dessert. I ordered the beef tenderloin and my husband ordered the mahi mahi and both were cooked well but there were things on both plates that didn't work. The strips of bleu cheese on the beef were so bitter I had to remove it and the cold crab salad on the hot fish was unappealing. It was also unnecessary with the other sides included. For the sides both came with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and asparagus and the sweet potatoes and asparagus were very tasty. Unfortunately the potatoes were piped out of a bag, unseasoned and tasted boxed. The most confusing part of the dishes were the large pickled beets that served no purpose and bled bitter beet juice on the potatoes and sweet potatoes making it so they couldn't be finished. The sweet potatoes really were delicious so it was too bad to have them ruined by something added for color. While the food wasn't bad most of the time we're in this area we're out for a movie, often with the kids, and not looking for a $30+ a plate meals. I don't know that there was enough to lure us back.

We found The Wild Rose through a Groupon deal and we decided to search out the restaurant for an anniversary dinner. I can't begin to tell you how glad we are that we found this place. I can't say enough about the food and service that we received on Friday evening. We started the meal with the seared scallops, cooked to perfection, moist, tender and delicious. That was followed by the chopped salad. Cool, crisp lettuce with juicy grapes, sliced almonds, blue cheese and the perfect amount of dressing. For the main entrée my husband enjoyed the mahi mahi and I had the salmon, both were delicious and perfectly cooked. The accompanying vegetables were a dish that would make me return in the future. Excellently prepared and fresh. We even opted for dessert since the dinner had gotten progressively better all the way through. The lemon & white chocolate mousse was delicious. The service was also excellent, well timed, pleasant and informative. We may have found the establishment through Groupon, but we will be returning because of the food and service.

Went a second time and just as awesome! This time we had the Scallop appetizer - which was delectable. Great sear and spice! The chopped salad was awesome. Lots of crispy bacon and the salad to dressing ratio was spot on. I also like the sun-dried tomato that comes with it. Last time my husband had the tenderloin. He enjoyed it so much that this time, I got it for myself! It was wonderful - tender, great sauce and the cheese... oh my! Now, the sides are just that - sides. It was piped mashed potatoes, green beans and a butternut squash puree. (not sweet potatoes like someone else said) These sides are all cooked perfectly but are not overly done. I mean they were good, cooked well, but left simple without a lot of butter, sauce or seasoning. I thought in this instance that was great and kinda the point as to showcase the beef. The blue cheese was very tart and a great complement to the beef and the sauce. That being said - if you don't like gourmet cheeses or the blue cheese family - you are not going to like it. If you do, you'll love it. My husband had the scampi. It was very nice - the shrimp were cooked perfectly! He wasn't a fan of the tomatoes in the sauce but it's only because he doesn't care for tomatoes in general. The sauce was buttery, lemony and garlicky - great for dipping the bread in. The service was good. The server was knowledgeable and cleared things from the table efficiently and politely. Great wine list - especially for the burbs! Please consider this place for your next night out!

Have dined here a few times, the sister restaurant of Tiburon. Great steak, salads, and bread. A step up in dining for Utah. Reminds me of dining in NY or Boston.

This place was very easy to get a reservation on a friday night. Great food, great atmosphere. They had green apple sorbet when we went, which was awesome! I had halibut, which was perfectly cooked. I also like this place because they send out coupons every month. I think this might be the only fine dining in this end of the valley, so I was relieved it was good.

We had rack of lamb and it was scrumptious, well presented, and the server, Chris, was wonderful. It was an A+experience for us.

We have been to the Wild Rose many times. I was so excited as soon as I heard that it was being opened by the owner of Tiburon, one of my favorite restaurants in the valley. We have never been disappointed, the food is generally top-notch. The service is always great, and sometimes you get a server that is quite formal (extra care in bringing out the wine, storage and napkin folding, crumb removal between plates, etc.), which is a rarity in Utah and highly appreciated. There are several top-notch servers here, e.g. Scott. Now, that's not to say there isn't room for improvement. The decor, while nice, is minimalist. I would like to see the place done up some more, to improve atmosphere and counterbalance the strip mall location. I would like to see some more variety in the menu. Different sides for different dishes, introduce some new dishes periodically, etc. We'd come here more often but we've had everything. Put Seafood Pasta and the Seared Tuna on the menu permanently! Nevertheless, I'm thoroughly happy to have a restaurant of such high caliber in this part of the valley. I can only hope that we get a few more. I don't like giving out 5 star reviews, because there is always room for improvement. But, the Wild Rose gets one because it truly outshines all restaurants in the area.

The food was excellent. We had the pork belly appetizer, the mushroom ravioli and the rack of lamb. All were perfect. Even the bread with the compound butter and the green apple sorbet were extra special. The atmosphere was good, the service was attentive. The only off thing about our experience here was the fact that we were nearly the only ones there, which I found kind of odd for the location, the fact that it was a Saturday night, and the quality of the food. We were joined by maybe 5-6 other dining groups the entire time we were there, but it was otherwise empty. I'm hoping it was just a slow night and not typical, because it would be a shame for this place to fail.

I know what you're thinking when you arrive at The Wild Rose - "A strip mall? Really? Who puts a fine dining restaurant in a strip mall?" But the second you walk in the door, you'd never guess that's where you were. My wife and I have been to The Wild Rose twice, once last year and then again last night, and both times we couldn't be happier with our experience. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, the ambiance was top-notch (especially when you consider the location in a strip mall), and the food was spectacular. The bread is served hot with a red pepper tomato pesto butter that should be bottled and sold in stores, and the butter is served warm, unlike so many other restaurants that give you frozen butter that's impossible to spread. The scoop of palate-cleansing Green Apple Sorbet is a wonderful touch that too many fine dining locations ignore. For the entree, I had the double-cut roasted pork chops and my wife had the salmon, and they were both delicious. The presentation is beautiful, and the sides are not to be ignored. Everything boils down to the kind of experience I wish I could afford to have every night. My only minor inconvenience came in the delay between the sorbet and the entree, but I blame myself as our reservation was literally the last of the night. Our previous visit, there was no such delay. All in all, I highly recommend The Wild Rose.

the only thing that holds me back from a full five stars is the location and the set up of the restaurant itself -- I feel like I'm walking in to a much more casual restaurant due to the open design (the furniture and other design elements are all very nice). we have dined here 3 times and each time have shared our meal with one another, saying that what we ordered is best -- orders include the chicken breast, NY steak, double cut pork chop and mushroom ravioli -- all were delicious and elegantly presented. we will definitely use this as a "guests are in town" restaurant when we don't want to go downtown.

Not great food for the price. The server was good, but I was completely underwhelmed with the food and so was my spouse. We are not usually hard to please. Both of our dishes had the exact same sides arranged in the exact same way for two very different entrees (steak and fish), which I thought was a strange lack of creativity for a supposedly "fine dining" establishment, and obviously little thought was put into the pairings if they are all identical. I've gotten better culinary creativity and artistry at restaurants 1/3 the price. But most importantly the flavor just wasn't there. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't great. I won't be going back.

The strip mall location combined with the rather spartan decor might make people doubt what is inside. As I'm fond of saying, "I didn't come here to eat anything but the food" so ambeince means little to me. Many of my favorite places to eat are in strip malls. This just happens to be the best. Besides where else are you going to hear Hank Williams, and a New Orleans flavored cover version of a 'Talking Heads' standard? My wife got one of their mint infused lemonades. I knoiw it sounds highly suspect, because there are a few ways this could go wrong. It didn't . It wasn't too sweet, nor too overpoweringingly minty. Just light and delicious. We ordered two appetizers The Kurabata pork belly was fantastic. The jalapeno grits were a nice complement. My main concerns were either the meat/fat ratio would be out of balance or that the meat component would be either tough and/or salty. It was perfectly proportioned with the 50:50 split between fat and meat and was tender enough to cut with a fork! The second appetizer was the cheese and salami plate. I've been eating Criminelli salami for a while. When it starts to warm up it becomes more translucent and then.......just trust me it's good. The two cheeses were a gouda and a Maytag Blue (more on that later). They were good enough, but a third cheese needs to be added. Perhaps a quality camembert? Also included was an onion jelly that didn't really complement either cheese or the salami. It was almost as if it was there just because somebody could make onion jelly. The whole almonds were just kind of there also and didn't do anything for the dish. My mind drifted off to a place with a soft French cheese, some Manchego, and the Maytag Blue were coupled with candied walnuts, figs, honeycomb, and a cracker to put it all on. I wiped away my tears and finished up what ended up being merely pretty good. The salads should all look pretty familiar to those who have eaten at Epic. I don't think they even bothered to give them different names. Nonetheless it was comforting to know exactly what I was in for. We got the Chopped Salad with romaine lettuce, blue cheese dressing, bacon (which seemed rather a let-down after eating the pork belly), and grapes. Tasty, without trying to incorporate too many flavors or be the star of the meal. Word to the wise, split the salad. Just a half salad is plenty. Also included with the meal was some bread with "home-made butter". As near as I can tell it was a mixture of butter, oilve oil, a hint of balsamic vinegar, and two varieties of minced pickled peppers. It was a bit awkward to spread until I noticed it would melt easily when warmed. Scoop it up in your spoon and gently warm it over the votive candle at the table. It will spread like a charm on the focaccia at this point. Lord have mercy! Any other night I could have contented myself with a baguette and some of this for dinner. Even as I type this 24 hours later I can still taste it. Before the entree's arrived, they brought out some grapefruit sorbet. Apparently the flavors will be rotated. Next up? Green Apple. I've never really understood the need to 'cleanse my palate' beyond water. Granted my tastebuds had been subjected to a full-on assault of flavors at this point. Much of it lipophilic. Perhaps 15 ml of Vodka swished and expectorated would have done the trick. But the sorbet was good I ate it and got ready for....... The entrees. I suppose we should have got two different things, but we both decided on the tenerloin. We both got it rare (since it should never be cooked another way) also. Perhaps it was just whimsy or a mistake, but mine came with asparagus spears, her's with green beans. I loved this. Even when identical things are ordered they refused to be duplicitous. The presentation was appealing with good color contrasts from the vegetable, the mashed squash and potatoes. and the filet. The demi-glace had a hint of chocolate in it. In addition to improving the color it added that piquance that works nicely with beef. The filet was topped with a slice of the Maytag Blue. While the cheese was OK as part of the appetizer, it melted perfectly atop the filet. Other steak houses just toss some POS blue-cheese crumbles that were commandeered from the salad station. The melting (not melted but melting) cheese was in all ways equal to other fatty toppers i.e. bearnaise or fois gras. Finally the steak itself. It was aged wonderfully, perfectly trimmed with not a trace of fat or gristle, and broiled to a perfect rose color. I try to avoid hyperbole, but this was the best tenderloin I have ever had. I've not had any cut of steak this good since the early 90's. I've always dreaded having the perfect meal. If it ever happens there will be nothing left to look forward to. Like Johnny Depp in "Once upon a time in Mexico", I will probably have to kill the chef in order to restore the natural order. He came close last night.
